1) Rafe is the town leader, he continues to try and get Esther to do her
work detail but to no avail; he eventually has to Shun her from Prin.
2) Rafe, since he is the town leader, tries to appear in a constant
figure of authority and control in front of his people, even when
something terrible is happening. He wants everyone to think that he is a
great leader so they will elect him again next year for being leader,
if something happens that is a good thing that he didn't know about, he
attempts to make it look as if the whole thing was his idea.
3) I chose to compare Rafe to myself because he tries to make it look
like he is always calm and cool and constantly in control of the
situation like I do. He is always looking for ways to help the people
and let hem know that he is helping them too. I help people enough that
they always know that I can and will help them with whatever and I will
do my best.
4) I don't know how to create a song but i decided instead to name a song that works with Rafe in the sense that it works with his traits and personality.
Indestructible by Disturbed http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=5&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CDQQtwIwBA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3D4A3c2RKTJ4I&ei=A2COU_vQAs-QyATs6IHAAQ&usg=AFQjCNHhfWbkD_lD-MFgrEUDATrUc8LF_Q&sig2=7AHiayjnTdY-cqn1fyB6Dw&bvm=bv.68235269,d.aWw
The song is about a man who is indestructible in war, not being able to be killed and being a war machine. Rafe has a "war" with the society in Prin. He is always trying to be in control or at least look as if he were in control. He battles the popular opinion of the people trying to convince them that he is an amazing leader even if he did nothing. The indestructible part is Rafe convincing them that he knew what was going to happen or that he had some part in the development in something important. He was never put out into the minority group of votes.

Individual - Kyle
1. Joseph, an old friend of Esther.
2. He has long, unkempt hair with light colored eyes. He is also tall, slender, and stoop shouldered. He is afraid of open spaces and uneasy around people, making him very independent. He is quite relaxed, and comfortable around Esther as well. He accepts how Esther tries to take care of him.
3. I chose those qualities because it is similar to me having a distaste for large open spaces and being uneasy around people, which is why I do not go to social gatherings. I prefer to be independent and learn how to coupe with things on my own. Now I chose these particular qualities because this is how I would act in a wasteland situation; independent, underestimated, yet resourceful.
4. I have found a song that can relate to Joseph:
Disturbed - I'm Alive!
The song can relate to Joseph in the way that he is a survivor, and he would not change his ways, in no shape or form. It is a song of independence, and how he wishes to change everything, but at the same time doesn't know where to start.

The individual assignment- dayton
Till(wasteland)
1.He was part of the harvesting group and Esther was suppose to be on it. She decided to play shelter with Skar instead. Then Till, Eli, and Bekkah found her. It was Till's idea. They decided to let her go but Till said"looks like you got off this time." Till played a very small role in this book.
2. Till is the youngest of the three. He is sarcastic. He is a hot head. He also seems to get mad super easy. He is a minor character but he does a lot in his little role. I think he could have changed the whole story. If he would have been the leader of the harvesting group Esther probably would have been killed.
3. I am like Till because I am young compared to many of my friends and family. He is sarcastic and I am sarcastic a lot. Till is a hot head he gets angry easy. He is the kinda guy that wants to take action. He is the guy that could be a leader but is to young and still has things to work on like his anger.

4. I chose this picture because because I see Till as an angry person. He is the youngest of the group. This show the anger in him and that is how I picture him. This picture shows that he is young.
The Individual - Emeline
4.) (this goes along with the picture) The reason why I chose this character is because she in her tv show is an older sister that thinks her brothers are super annoying. Whereas in the book Sarah thinks her younger sister is "naive" and "immature". In my life I also think the same things of my little sister. I feel that Sarah acts more radical than the cartoon character.
1.) Character: Sarah Her relation to the main character?: Older Sister
2.) She seems to be a normal inhabitant of Prin. She believes strongly against the variants and Sarah also believes that you should never miss work. She is very clean and acts the "adult way". Sarah also likes Levi. She also is close to Levi, she even taught him how to read. She is 17 and has never partnered.
3.) I feel that I most identify with Sarah because I, myself am an older sister who is closely approaching 17. She is also known for neatness and so am I!
Individual #7 (Becca)
1.Character: Bekkah. She does not have any relation to any of the main characters.
2.Bekkah is obviously a girl. She is only twelve years old. She has no relation to any character. So she doesn't mean much to the book. Bekkah is very bossy. She tells Caleb to go get an army of variants. She tells Esther to get back to work and she has no control over her.
3. Bekkah and I can be very much alike at certain times. We are both girls for the main part. When I get aggravated or mad I can be very bossy but not all the time. Sometimes I don't act my age especially towards my parents and brother. When I really want something I start acting like a twelve year old. The main reason I chose Bekkah is because we have the same name just spelt different.
4. The picture I drew relates to Bekkah because she is very bossy. In my picture you can tell how it looks like the little girl is telling someone what do. The girl in the picture is also a young girl like Bekkah. To me this drawing explains Bekkah like nothing else would.

The First 48
Police Report
Details of Incident:
The townspeople of Prin were attacked by Mutants. The mutants didn't attack the townspeople outright, they mainly focused their rage on the structures around Prin. One boy was severely injured during the attack, he tried to defend the town from the mutants by getting on top of a building and throwing his lead pipe at the leader, Slayd, of the attacking mutants. Even though he managed to gain a sneak attack advantage, a different mutant saw the boy and jumped in the way of the incoming pipe. After Slayd got up from being pushed on the ground, he ordered the mutants to shoot a volley of rocks at the boy. The child was hit and he fell down the fire escape until he finally hit the ground. After the boy was knocked unconscious, Slayd and the rest of his mutant accomplices left just as vastly as they came.
Actions Taken:
After he incident, the townspeople met in their usual meeting place; there they talked and argued about why the mutants have started to increase their attacks and why they have so much animosity towards them. The town leader, Rafe, started talking in his usual soft tone when he wants all of them to be quiet and listen. Rafe was convinced that if he wanted to stay in office, or keep his position, that he needed to act swiftly and drastically. Rafe told the townspeople that he had a plan, he wanted to ask Levi if he would give the townspeople weapons, like knives, bows, tasers, and so forth. Everyone looked around because they didn't know where they were going to find supplies to trade to get the weapons.
Summary:
The variants went to Prin and started destroying the buildings and structures. They weren't intentionally harming the citizens of the town though. A Want-to-Be hero took his lead pipe to a roof top and attacked the variant's leader , Slayd. Slayd was protected by one of his underlyings and then Slayd ordered the rest of them to hurl rocks at the boy. Rocks pelted the boy, knocking him to the ground. The variants left and the citizens of Prin had a town meeting. The leader, Rafe, told he townspeople of a plan he had to help defend the town. Rafe wanted to ask Levi to lend them some weapons to use to defend themselves. The variants committed a hit and run crime, they are also charged with vandalism.

ARE WE THERE YET?
1. Is there a way to convince Caleb to not hate variants?
2. Why does Levi need all of the townspeople to leave Prin to find the underground pure water springs?
3. Why is Joseph important to Esther?
4. What events led to the cause of the post-apocalyptic world that is present in the book Wasteland?
5. Where does the disease that keeps you from aging past nineteen come from?

WHERE ARE WE AGAIN?
The setting of Wasteland is a post apocalypse. Once you turn nineteen you die. No one can escape the disease. The sky is no longer blue it has faded to yellow. Glass is all over the ground. Many buildings are destroyed. Words have faded off of buildings and signs. Most people can not read anyway. The heat is unbearable. In Wasteland if you want something you have to go out and get it yourself.

AND THEN WHAT?
The story is going to be about a post- apocalyptic wasteland, where everyone has to trade resources to survive each day. The main protagonist's name is Esther and she is fifteen years old. In the wasteland, no one can live for more than nineteen years. She has a friend , Skar, who is a variant. Variants are outcasts and hermaphroditic, they are boys and girls, they don't live in the city of Prin and wear different clothing.
